Monetor is a personal finance app for iPhone. It helps you track transactions, receipts, bills, goals, loans, and assets without asking for your bank credentials. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

What we collect

• Account data. Your email address, authentication identifiers, and account settings.
• Financial data you add. Transactions, receipts, merchants, categories, notes, budgets, bills, loans, goals, asset balances, and similar records you create or import.
• Apple Shortcuts import data. If you enable automation, your Shortcut may send transaction details such as merchant, amount, currency, date, card label, and device pairing details.
• Receipt data. Images or text from receipts you choose to scan, plus extracted line items and totals.
• Operational data. App version, device model, operating system version, logs, diagnostics, and crash information used to keep Monetor secure and stable.
• Waitlist data. If you join from this website, we collect your email address and basic submission metadata so we can contact you about access.

We do not ask for your bank credentials. Monetor does not require Plaid, screen scraping, or bank aggregator access.

What we do not collect

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs in the app.
• We do not ask for bank usernames, passwords, or one-time passcodes.
• We do not read your messages, contacts, location history, or photo library except for receipt files you explicitly choose to upload or scan.

How we use data

• To provide the app, sync your account, and show your financial dashboard.
• To process imports, receipt scans, categorization, alerts, summaries, and AI-assisted insights.
• To troubleshoot bugs, prevent abuse, secure the service, and improve reliability.
• To send product access, account, support, billing, and important service messages.

Storage and security

Your account data is stored on private backend infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest where supported by our service providers. Authentication uses token-based access controls. Financial records are scoped to your account and are not visible to other users.

Service providers

We use trusted service providers for hosting, database, authentication, analytics, diagnostics, email, and payment processing. They may process data only as needed to provide their services to Monetor. We do not permit them to sell your personal data.

Website analytics

This site may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand page views and basic performance. We use this to improve the website and waitlist flow, not for ad targeting.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, export of your data, or deletion of your account. You can also ask us to remove your waitlist email. Contact hello@monetor.co and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records after deletion where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, or dispute resolution.

Children

Monetor is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify users in the app or by email.
